The Tennessee House of Representatives voted to pass the Fertility Care and Contraceptive Protection Act, a bill that codifies the rights of individuals to access fertility treatments and contraceptives and healthcare providers to perform such care.

“We are grateful to Senator Massey and Representative Rudder for their leadership on this critical issue, and to members of the General Assembly for being proactive to protect women’s health,” AWAKE Executive Director and IVF mom Kelli Nowers said. “Access to fertility care and contraceptives should never be politicized — these are essential tools that allow Tennesseans to build healthy families, make informed decisions about their futures and lead dignified lives. Today’s vote affirms that protecting the health and autonomy of women, children and families is not a partisan issue — it’s a human one.”
